Carrots

Carrots are a cool-season biennial crop that's usually grown as an annual for food harvesting purposes. They prefer sandy, loose soil that's free of stones. Failure to properly break the soil up and rid it of large stones can result in roots that are deformed or split. Water carrots evenly and be careful not to overwater them. Also be careful not to add too much nitrogen to the soil because it can cause carrot roots to branch.
